This process drives off volatile gases and liquids, leaving behind a charcoal-like substance with a high carbon content.

The characteristics of eucalyptus biochar can vary significantly depending on the feedstock type (e.g., wood, bark), the pyrolysis temperature, and the residence time in the reactor. Generally, it possesses:

  • High Carbon Content: A large portion of its mass is stable carbon, making it effective for carbon sequestration.
